The Ansmann Premium Lithium Battery is specially designed for use in smoke detectors. This battery provides up to 700% more power compared to an alkaline battery. The smoke detector batteries are approximately 35% lighter than normal 9V E block batteries. Very low self-discharge (about 2% a year).
