Wer sich mit der Geschichte des OSS auskennt, weiß, das dieses Abzeichen ein Entwurf eines Abzeichen für ehemalige OSS-Agenten als Anerkennung gedacht ist, die sich nach dem 2. WK dazu entschlossen haben, in der US-Army weiter zu dienen. Leider wurde dies vom United States Army Institute of Heraldry nicht genehmigt.
