The full tang, black anodized blade of this sturdy knife has on the end of the handle an eyelet to attach a carrying strap. The ergonomic shaped handle consists of a stable multi-layered plastic. Handle and blade are connected by four Allen screws, which allows for an easy cleaning of the knife. The well-designed leather sheath is equipped with a push button, which keeps the knife safely on the right spot.

Die 11 cm lange und 3,5 mm dicke Klinge besitzt einen Hohlschliff. Ich konnte keine Angaben zum Stahl finden, daher vermute ich, dass es sich um weicheren Stahl wie den 420 handelt, der ein härte von 52-55 hrc besitzt. Das parierelement ist weit genug ausgeprägt um ein abrutschen auf die Klinge zu verhindern. Der 2 cm dicke Griff liegt ziemlich gut und sicher in der Hand. Die 2 mm dicke Lederscheide wirkt billig, erfüllt aber dennoch ihren zweck das Messer sicher zu tragen.

Fazit: Als Outdoor- oder Selbstverteidigungsmesser ist das Fox Outdoor Tanto durchaus zu gebrauchen.
