US Army - Casco US M1 con casco interior como nuevo

A helmet that I wanted to be transformed into a US Second World War version. After stripping the paint, I note in the shell the presence of a “1967 UMAL LOT 2" marking. Surprise! It is therefore a Belgian helmet, in short (ersatz of the American M1 model)! The original paint (under the fresh green and structured paint from Miltec) was grey/blue. So, warning: this helmet is not intended for collectors who would like something authentic, because there is nothing American about it; this should be known! On the other hand, for reconstitution and with a moderate budget transformation, it will do very well... Steel shell in very good condition and without bumps: this is important. The price remains fair, with a liner that is not ridiculous.

Beautiful piece

Overall, I was more than disappointed after receiving the delivery. Contrary to the item description, this is NOT an original product!!! 1.) the helmet shell: The 1967 UMAL stamp clearly points to a Belgian replica, the Mle-51. 2.) the inner helmet: A cheapest plastic replica from Mil-Tec. Good product, ideal for reconstitution, at this price we do not expect extraordinary quality. The straps seem a bit light. Delivered with a Vietnam-type helmet cover and its elastic support, a nice little extra.

Good first impression. The model is from the last production series (Vietnam era). Newly painted, no dents, clasp and clips yet super functional. The inner helmet appears to be from Miltec, but it is OK and fits. With a little patience, a Woodland cover for the Fritz helmet also fits.
