What should be considered when using mosquito protection?
Before using the mosquito net for the first time, it should be checked for any damage – in this case, holes. When setting up the mosquito net, make sure it is not stretched too tightly. Otherwise, the entire net could be torn down or ripped by minor impacts. You should also ensure that the interior of the mosquito net offers enough space. Ample freedom of movement is indispensable for longer or even permanent use.
It is important that the mosquito protection completely encloses the area to be shielded. Even small holes can allow mosquitoes and insects to enter the interior, greatly reducing the protective effect of the mosquito net. What shapes are available?

How fine-meshed does the net need to be?
That depends on the area you are traveling to. If you want protection from all animals that may occur and not just from a specific type of mosquito, the net should of course be as fine-meshed as possible. In the tropics, however, the requirements are naturally quite different from those at the pond around the corner.
What to do in case of a tear/enlarged hole?
Of course, you have to notice it first. However, it is advisable to check the net daily anyway, or at least after every change of location, so that any newly formed holes are spotted quickly. To avoid being left unprotected if a hole does appear, you should always carry a needle and thread in your gear so you can “seal” the hole and fully restore the mosquito protection.
