Der Optimus Kocher Nova besitzt einen im Einsatz vielfach bewährten, schnell zündenden und patentierten Brenner mit integrierter magnetischer Reinigungsnadel und sich selbst drosselnder Aluminiumpumpe. Der Kocher wurde mit dem Steuerventil Powerline ausgestattet, so dass der Brennstoffschlauch ebenso als Verlängerung des Ventils benutzt werden kann. Die Flamme wird abseits vom Brenner durch einfaches Drehen eines Reglers kontrolliert, um so mehr Sicherheit zu gewährleisten. Dies ist ideal, wenn der vor dem Wind geschützte Kocher mit Handschuhen bedient werden muss.
