What to Consider When Using Identification Tags
Our identification tags (EKMs) can be easily and uncomplicatedly hung around the neck. The material is robust and durably processed and has high resistance to corrosion. Therefore, our identification tags do not require maintenance. When attaching the identification tags to a collar, it must be ensured that it is properly closed and that the identification tag is securely attached to it. Otherwise, there is a risk that the identification tag will slip off or be lost. A small hole is provided for attaching our identification tags, through which smaller chains and ropes can be threaded.
Which Tag or EKM to Choose?
The choice of which identification tag to select depends not only on individual preference but also on the circumstances. We offer a variety of different identification tags, so they can be selected according to personal needs.
Our identification tags can be used for many different areas. Among our identification tags are those for signalers, army aviators, legionnaires, armored reconnaissance, supply, artillery, and reconnaissance scouts.
In addition to official identification tags such as the Bundeswehr identification tag, we also offer ones with custom engraving. Their text can be personally selected and then engraved in dedicated workshops. They are therefore also ideal as gifts for birthdays, Christmas, or other annual events.
Some of our tags are designed as bottle openers and therefore also serve as practical everyday items. The choice of which variant to choose ultimately depends on personal inclination.
Expert Tip: What Do the Inscriptions on the Tags Mean?
There is also the special case that, for example, for epileptics, a so-called emergency tag is created, which contains the most important instructions, immediate measures, or a caregiver's telephone number and which the person concerned can comfortably wear permanently around their neck.
However, even with the EKMs for "normal" use, there are certain standards to be able to identify the inscription. For example, during the time of the Wehrmacht, the tags indicated which infantry regiment the wearer belonged to and what blood type they needed.
