Böker plus - Shovel M1874 black

The Böker Plus Shovel M1874 in black offers a wide range of uses, making it ideal for bushcrafters and off-road drivers. The M1874 is also of interest to collectors of military equipment, as the historical model it's based on saw service in both World Wars. Besides its obvious use for digging trenches, this extremely robust shovel can also be used for splitting firewood, as a climbing aid on steep slopes, or even as an emergency paddle.
The two-part blade and spring construction is joined with five strong rivets, additionally secured with a 40 mm wide steel clamp, and encircles the break-resistant ash wood handle to half its length. This results in excellent stability, and the shovel exhibits high resistance to breakage and shock loads. Furthermore, it is easy to resharpen even under field conditions. One simple sharpening method, for example, is to lay both edges flat against a concrete block with the inside of the blade facing down.
The case with two belt loops is made of moisture-resistant and rot-proof black nylon with a solid plastic insert.
