Haix – duty shoes and boots made in Germany

To ensure that service clothing always fits well and does not restrict the user’s movements, belts and suspenders are very important. These practical Bundeswehr accessories also cut a fine figure outside everyday service. Whether in camouflage patterns such as Multicam or Flecktarn – military belts are real eye-catchers in civilian life too and are always popular. But those of you who prefer a more understated look will also find what you’re looking for among our Bundeswehr accessories. Belts, suspenders and the like are of course also available from us in various solid colors such as black or olive.

Beyond Germany’s borders

As a member of the voluntary fire brigade in Mainburg, he and his comrades knew from their own experience how uncomfortable and impractical rubber boots were in firefighting operations. The new boots were to be made of leather. His plan worked. The innovative firefighting boots earned praise and recognition from his comrades and other firefighters. Shortly afterwards, Haix expanded its product range to include boots for rescue services and the police.

Before long, the company Haix and its innovative boots were known far beyond Germany’s borders. In 2003, Haix North America Inc. was founded. This subsidiary serves the US and Canadian markets. Just six years later, a highly advanced production facility was built in Croatia. In the same year, the new sales subsidiary Haix France was founded.

Today, Haix’s range includes various firefighting boots, police and military boots, boots for rescue services and forestry boots, duty boots and hunting boots. In close cooperation with people from the target groups mentioned, Haix continuously develops and improves its products.

HAIX® – Profile

• HAIX® is the world’s leading manufacturer of functional footwear for fire brigades, police, emergency response units and, increasingly, for forestry, woodland work and outdoor leisure activities. Whether in Los Angeles, Moscow, Hong Kong or Mexico City – wherever firefighters are on duty, lives are being saved and absolute reliability on footwear is essential at the scene – the high-quality boots from HAIX® have become indispensable companions.

• Practice-oriented research and creative innovations are among the unwavering hallmarks of the footwear specialist founded in 1948 in Mainburg, Bavaria. When company owner Ewald Haimerl promises “developed by firefighters for firefighters,” this is not an empty phrase but lived reality every day at HAIX®.

• With countless new developments and patents, the Bavarian global player sets worldwide standards in functionality, quality and innovation. A key part of the company strategy is expanding development and production in Europe. The headquarters and company head office with administration, research, footwear development and logistics are located north of Munich.

• In 2005, construction of a second production site began in the EU member state of Croatia. Where major sports brands once had their high-tech shoes manufactured, the Bavarian functional footwear specialist found the workforce and technical know-how needed to guarantee further professional growth in production. In 2009, the foundation stone was laid for its own factory in Mala Subotica, and at the same time a training initiative for young people was launched. Since August 2009, up to 600 employees have been producing HAIX® functional footwear of the highest quality in one of the world’s most modern shoe manufacturing facilities. Completely new production processes, including for in-house sole production, demonstrate HAIX®’s unique high-tech expertise.

• In 2003, HAIX® founded its own sales subsidiary in the USA. From Lexington, Kentucky, the boots of the quality functional footwear manufacturer from Bavaria have since conquered the North American and Canadian markets. From Los Angeles to Washington, D.C., and from Vancouver to Montreal, emergency services now rely on HAIX.

• Since 2008, the French HAIX® sales subsidiary in Strasbourg has supported expansion in the European market.

• In 2011, the company founded HAIX Asia Ltd. From Hong Kong, the sales subsidiary successfully supports activities in the Asian market. HAIX® employs more than 800 people worldwide and produced around 650,000 pairs of shoes in 2013.
