Folding chairs are compact and practical. We'll show you what to consider when choosing and using them.
There are no special considerations when using folding chairs. However, it's always a good idea to check the user manual to ensure proper folding and maintenance of the chair.
Folding chairs feature a folding mechanism that allows the chair to be folded and unfolded. This technology saves space and allows for quick and easy transport. The folding mechanism is typically based on a steel frame, providing high stability. Improper unfolding of the chair can quickly bend the frame, so proper assembly is essential.
The choice of folding chair depends primarily on the intended use. While some folding chairs are quite small and have a low height, others offer more space and "airier heights." Older individuals should opt for folding chairs with a pronounced seat height to avoid potential back and/or standing issues. Younger individuals can choose lower seat heights according to their preference.
The variety of our range allows you to choose from many different color tones. In addition to black, green, and gray elements, camouflage folding chairs are also available.
A so-called Swedish chair also falls into the category of folding chairs, although it's not directly related to classic folding chairs as it's only foldable as a side effect.
These chairs basically consist of only two parts and are assembled by inserting them, which greatly facilitates assembly and transport. Since only simple hand tools are needed for construction, it is ideal as a DIY project. You can use old slats for the backrest and seat, so except for screws, you hardly need to spend any money on new materials.
For the seat, use approximately 4 slats with a width of about 35 cm. These are mounted on two thicker bars with a length of about 60 cm, preferably with chipboard screws.
These chairs are mostly made of lightweight materials to facilitate easier transport. However, for camping or more stationary uses, wood is also suitable. For longer trips and when walking long distances, opt for lighter materials. Aluminum is commonly used here, offering a good compromise between weight and stability. Often, aluminum reinforced with steel is used, much like with field or camping beds.
In the Netherlands, there's a service that, upon receiving a digital image, prints it on the back of a (very flat) folding chair. When folded, the chair looks like a (slightly elongated) picture that can be hung on the wall, cleverly hiding it. Very practical for tight spaces with a designer aesthetic. Unfortunately, this service is only available in Dutch, but an online translation service can help. More info: http://www.picchair.nl/
