A sweater is always a good fit, anywhere

Not all pullovers are the same. Some models are better suited to harsh, i.e. cold or rainy, outdoor environments, while others are intended more for leisure and summer camping. This is naturally reflected in the choice of colors as well, so we offer green, black, gray, and also red variants.

It is important that clothing fits well, because only when a sweater fits properly do you have sufficient freedom of movement and at the same time optimal protection against cold and moisture. You should therefore make sure that the sweater – colloquially “jumper” – is long enough in the back area to prevent the kidneys from getting cold. College sweaters or hooded models perform this task just as reliably as fleece variants.

How do the differences in material become noticeable?

Sweaters made of new wool provide excellent warmth, protection and insulation, as new wool absorbs moisture and wicks it to the outside. To help new wool keep its shape, it is often blended with a proportion of polyacrylic.
Cotton has similar properties to new wool and feels pleasant on the skin. Fleece is a synthetic product with the huge advantage that it can be made very thin and light while still retaining body heat.
Blended fabrics combine the best properties of the materials mentioned above, resulting in first-class sweaters, which of course are available in a wide selection here at ASMC. In addition to a wide range of sweaters, ASMC also offers a variety of jackets that go perfectly with our sweaters and provide additional protection and comfort for various outdoor activities.

Here’s a tip on how to keep clothes dry during a tour so they’re not clammy in the morning. You can take double advantage by simply putting your sweater or another garment in your sleeping bag. This keeps your feet especially warm and the next day your clothes won’t be clammy as they would be if you left them in the tent.
