Sweaters don’t just belong in the outdoor sector – ASMC

The men’s sweaters and sweatshirts from ASMC impress with quality, style and versatile use. From Bundeswehr sweaters to hoodies, there is a suitable option for every occasion.

A sweater is always a good fit, anywhere

A pullover is not just a pullover. Some models are better suited to harsh, i.e. cold or rainy, outdoor environments, while others are more intended for leisure and summer camping. This is also reflected in the choice of colors, which is why we offer green, black, gray and also red variants.

It is important that clothing fits well, because only when a sweater fits properly do you have sufficient freedom of movement while also being optimally protected against cold and moisture. You should therefore make sure that the sweater – colloquially called a jumper – is long enough in the back area to prevent the kidneys from cooling down. College sweaters or hooded models perform this task just as reliably as fleece variants.

How do the differences in material become noticeable?

Sweaters made of new wool provide excellent warmth, protection and insulation, as new wool absorbs moisture and wicks it to the outside. To help new wool keep its shape, it is often blended with a proportion of polyacrylic.
Cotton has similar properties to new wool and feels pleasant on the skin. Fleece is a synthetic fibre product with the great advantage that it can be made very thin and light while still retaining body heat.
Blended fabrics combine the best properties of the materials mentioned above, resulting in first‑class sweaters, which of course are available in a wide selection here at ASMC. In addition to a broad range of sweaters, we at ASMC also offer a variety of jackets that go perfectly with our sweaters and provide extra protection and comfort for various outdoor activities.

Which version for which application?

The sweaters in our range are suitable for virtually any area of use – whether military, security, leisure or outdoor. Cotton, for example, is perfect as a mid-layer, even under bulletproof or protective vests. Lightweight cotton sweaters are, of course, always appropriate for leisure wear. Fleece models should not be worn alone in severe cold, but are ideal for transitional seasons and moderate temperatures.

Tip: Sweaters made of (virgin) wool should only be washed on the hand‑wash program and must never be put in the dryer.

Here’s a tip on how to keep clothes dry during a trip so they’re not clammy in the morning. You can take double advantage by simply putting your sweater or another garment in your sleeping bag. This keeps your feet especially warm and the next day your clothes won’t be clammy as they would be if you left them in the tent.
