Field blouses are part of the basic equipment of soldiers and are also often referred to as combat shirts. They are characterized by many practical features that are specifically tailored to the requirements of duty. Field blouses are often equipped with one or more hook-and-loop panels to which name tags as well as patches or rank insignia can be attached. In addition, plenty of pockets are a characteristic feature of combat shirts. These can be used to stow the gear required for duty so it can be carried at all times. As a rule, classic field blouses have two chest pockets and one upper arm pocket. Because much of the equipment can be stowed directly on the body in numerous pockets, the necessary gear is always on you and ready to hand. For this reason, combat shirts are also becoming increasingly popular for everyday tasks. Whether in the garden or in the workshop – field blouses impress in terms of functionality and are therefore also gladly worn in everyday life. Last but not least, the materials used are particularly robust and hard-wearing. This is an important prerequisite for the basic equipment of all military personnel to withstand duty. But field blouses also leave nothing to be desired in terms of comfort: combat shirts are generally cut a little looser to give the wearer maximum freedom of movement for all activities. In addition, the lightweight materials feel pleasant on the skin and are cut in such a way that no pressure points are created by seams. Many field blouses are made from materials that are odor-inhibiting and climate-regulating, allowing combat shirts to be worn for several days and thus during longer missions without any problems. To provide the wearer with additional protection, combat shirts are often equipped with material reinforcements on the arms and made from flame-retardant fabrics. Finally, field blouses often use materials that are both cut- and abrasion-resistant, thus adding further protective properties useful for duty to the comfortable wear characteristics of Bundeswehr trousers. Some models even dispense with hard metal or plastic parts so that they do not cause secondary injuries when worn under a protective vest if hit by projectiles. All in all, field blouses and combat shirts are true all-rounders: they are used as functional clothing in many areas of operation and make it easier to carry out a wide range of tasks both on duty and in everyday life.
