The Norwegian company Brynje has been manufacturing thermoactive mesh underwear for outdoor activities for over 50 years, combining the advantages of synthetic material (Meraklon) with the proven mesh fabric.
This fiber does not absorb moisture (unlike wool and cotton) and distributes it over a large area, allowing it to evaporate more quickly (thus virtually eliminating evaporative cooling). Sweat and excess body heat can escape more easily through the mesh than with smooth-knit underwear.
The breathability and heat retention properties of the mesh fabric are maintained even when activity and rest phases follow each other in rapid succession. The skin surface and underwear remain dry, thus preventing the body from cooling down and conserving valuable energy; body temperature remains stable.
This has been proven by tests under arctic conditions with military special forces, international expeditions and top athletes.
