The brim is very hard and keeps the creases even after several washes (sometimes with prolonged soaking). You get the impression that plastic was used in the brim. It is also recommended to wash the Boonie separately, as the colors are relatively strong. Otherwise, the Boonie is great, the seams are neat and the rest of the workmanship is also not objectionable. My conclusion: If you can live with a relatively shape-retaining brim (which, however, can retain creases when washed), you don't have to worry about this Boonie and get a good product at a reasonable price.
