MFH - Machete Kukri

Very good kukri. Not an ultrasuperduper Sahl but completely sufficient. Hook this well and carving is also relatively good. Not like a Mora, of course... that's logical. I had to order another one for a buddy. Conclusion... recommended for the money.

It was a gift. The quality is good. Would order again and again.

Weight: Kukri alone 525g - with sheath 630g. OK. Workmanship: quite okay for the price. I've cut out a bit of scrub so far - with two minor scuffs on the cutting edge. I also turned an old armchair into small wood for fun... Only the back eyelet (for lanyard) becomes a bit uncomfortable in the long run - at least if you have big hands like me. Otherwise a good, grippy feeling. But the right “effort\"” is yet to come...”

Nice Kukri that feels good in the hand. It takes a short period of acclimatization to use, as it is balanced differently than machetes. Unfortunately, the sheath is of inferior quality; the seams are made in such a way that they separate after just a short time under low load. In terms of price and quality, I suspect that it is AISI 420 steel, so don't count on an indestructible all-purpose tool. Although you get the blade sharp, which many people apparently place great value on, sharps and a blunt blade are not long in coming. For the right use, this machete is made from steel that is too soft. But anyone who only wants to cut through thin trunks and doesn't want to cut small trees, like me, should be satisfied with this machete.
