Here's how: Transform your hand into a sundial:

For the sundial, you need a small stick. Place the stick in your palm and secure it with your thumb. Now you have the pointer. In the morning, place the pointer in your left hand. You can work on small, shallow scratches on the glass with toothpaste. However, deeper scratches should be handled with care using special glass polishing agents. In both cases, it's advisable to test the abrasive performance on an old, no longer needed watch beforehand.

What to do about water stains on a leather strap?

Water stains can be removed effectively with a cut onion or a cloth soaked in milk. Rub the leather quickly with half an onion or a cloth soaked in milk and then let it dry. Whichever method you choose, it's crucial that the treated area is thoroughly dried and the leather is subsequently treated with a leather care product.

How to remove grease stains from leather?

It's best to remove such stains with a fat-absorbing stain remover spray or try using leather soap (also known as leather gum).

How to change button cell batteries yourself?

To change the battery, you should have a watchmaker's screwdriver to properly release the tiny screws that usually secure a spring clip for the button cell. Depending on the battery holder's design, the button cell can be easily removed using a watchmaker's screwdriver or tweezers (be sure to use plastic tweezers!). Before disassembling for the first time, carefully examine the inside of the watch and make notes on the position of retaining springs, cover foils, etc., or even take a (macro) photo. You can find out which type of battery you need from the user manual or, in most cases, from the head of the old battery. You don't necessarily have to use the same type of battery again if it's not available; you can possibly find appropriate equivalents using a comparison table. However, it's essential to ensure the battery has the same dimensions and voltage.
