Men’s fleece jackets

The materials used in fleece jackets differ in some of their properties and are therefore suitable for different areas of use. Basically, fleece is not just fleece!

This is reflected, for example, in the material density: the specification 100-weight fleece for fleece vests and jackets indicates a lower material density than 200-weight fleece. As a result, the weight of fleece jackets with a lower material density is significantly lower than the reverse. A 100-weight fleece vest is therefore suitable as a light summer jacket, while a 200-weight fleece jacket reliably keeps the wearer warm on cold days. The denser fabric keeps the cold out in winter and reliably retains existing warmth. Fleece jackets therefore also differ in their degree of breathability. High-quality fleece vests are able to regulate the climate: they insulate existing body heat while still ensuring sufficient ventilation to the outside for excess warmth.

Due to the various material properties mentioned above, the areas of use for fleece jackets also differ. While fleece vests made from lightweight microfleece are almost windproof, fleece jackets made from this material are primarily suitable for colder days.

In contrast, fleece vests with a lower material density combine excellent breathability with the insulating wearing properties of the fabrics, ensuring a balanced and pleasant body climate even on warmer days.

Thanks to the different material compositions, fleece jackets can be combined at will with other garments and worn in a layered (onion) system. And it is precisely these properties that make fleece vests so versatile and the ideal companion for outdoor enthusiasts.
