What does the stated volume on the products mean?

What it says on the label is what fits inside. We measure the capacity of our backpacks, bags, etc. in a practical way: using loosely filled granulate sacks of 1, 2, 5, 10 and 20 liters that also fill corners and gaps. This gives us very precise information about the actual packing volume, including external pockets and lid compartments.

Can you wash a tent or a backpack in the washing machine?

Please don’t. While they won’t necessarily be damaged, the warranty will definitely be voided. Clean your backpack or bag with lukewarm water and dish soap – ideally in the bathtub. There is no need to re-impregnate afterwards, as the materials are already coated. Your tent will also get properly clean with handwashing, water and a sponge. After cleaning, allow everything to dry thoroughly and store it in a clean, dark place to avoid mildew stains and unpleasant odors.

The name

The first and most important point is that wounds should always be rinsed thoroughly, and only with clean water – ideally drinking water you have brought with you. If necessary, water from a stream can also be used. After this, you can disinfect the wound properly with alcohol, ideally with an alcohol content of over 70%, if you don’t have anything else on hand (such as a wound-disinfection spray). Be prepared for it to sting quite a bit. There are also convenient, individually portioned “alcohol swabs” designed precisely for such situations and ready to use immediately. As an alternative, urine can also be used, as it is likewise considered sterile. Water is still regarded as the better option, because it contains fewer additional substances than urine. Also important: You should not use disinfectant on large wounds or open fractures! What you should definitely avoid: Aftershave usually contains perfume and must not be used for disinfection due to the risk of blood poisoning.
