Many of our performance shoes are characterized by their waterproofness, while others are merely water-repellent and cannot withstand large amounts of moisture. In contrast, our casual shoes or sneakers generally offer no protection against moisture and should therefore mainly be worn on dry days.

The socks you wear in your performance footwear are a crucial factor for your walking comfort. Cushioning at the ball of the foot or heel not only absorbs every step, but also prevents the formation of painful blisters in your casual shoes. The right socks in combination with your comfortable performance shoes therefore provide excellent wearing properties and maximum walking comfort on all your tours.

When trying on your new casual shoes, you should make sure that they offer enough room both at the heels and at the toes. Since your feet automatically slide forward when walking downhill, for everyday and casual shoes we recommend leaving about 10–15 mm of space. If, on the other hand, you are buying performance shoes for sports activities or hiking, then according to our rule of thumb you should have between 15 and 20 millimeters of space in your new companions.
